Wow! What a weekend of celebrations, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee certainly didn’t disappoint, well accept for the weather!!!
Sunday morning we decided to pack the hats, gloves and macs after watching the breakfast tv and we were so glad we did….we got drenched!!! But it was all worth while to get the glimpse of the Royal Boat and family onboard and all the wonderful boats that followed. Everyone had gone to so much effort, it was so lovely to go out and support them.
Monday, was a much drier and warmer affair with a Jubilee family BBQ. The conversatory and garden was decked with bunting, there wasn’t a surface untouched without a splash of red, white and blue!
Union Jack fabric and throws draped over chairs to look like they have been upholstered, chair covers bowed in navy and pillar box red, and even little Mason had his hi chair decorated – your never to young to celebrate at Fuschia! The table just oozed with decor and the centre piece; a cluster of balloons with of course the Union Jack really set the theme for the afternoon of Jubilee celebrations.
Table cloths, cups, themed glassware, triva scratch cards, windmills, napkins, chocolate lollies were all part of making the BBQ that little bit more special and British.
We all bought each other jubilee gifts, which was fun seeing if we had found something different than someone else! These included union jack socks, official magazine & stamps, blue, red and white M&M’s, The Queen DVD, kitchen roll with teapots and the union jack flag on and of course a mug to drink our English cups of tea from with a chocolate crispy cake on our royal cake stands!
We had such a great day, the BBQ was followed by Fuschia family fun, more eating, drinking and watching the live coverage on the box. There were so many great moments but some of our favourites were the concert on Monday night and the Royal procession down the Mall on the Tuesday afternoon. Finally how could we not mention the balcony wave and of course the stunning fly by.
I must say it made us feel very proud to be British and reminded us we are so lucky to live in such a fantastic country. Oh and how much Fuschia love to party!!
